Thought this might be the best place for this post. Please inform me if it isn't. Basically I have just become a year member catch and release and I'm just going to keep updating this post to keep track of how well I fare and also as a reference for anyone who maybe looking for info such as flies and tactics as I'll hopefully be fishing the lake at least once if not more a week.

ps if anyone wants to meet up for a day etc feel free to mention it on here, im often fishing alone and would be great to meet like minded anglers. I've also decided to take part in the winter league comps so looking forward to these too.

To get this started my first session was on wens 4th and fished between 11-3 in the pouring rain, fished very hard and only took one and got bumped off by two, all 3 on damsel, fish seemed to be abit down in the water.

Next session is planned for sat 14th, I'll let you know how i get on.

Didn't manage to get out on saturday due to the weather, but fished sunday on the first winter league comp. A good turn out as im sure jamies report will show, and a great days fishing, i remember jamie totaling the number of fish caught throughout the day was just over 150 fish!

I managed 9 finishing 6th place. My fish mainly came to a mixture, but fished pretty quickly, either a fast figure of 8 of short stripping pulls, i personally caught on damsel, orange fritz and a small black lure. many others were using cats whiskers to good results.

All in all a very good day, looking forward to the next one now.

Managed to get out tues 22nd to find most of
the lake frozen over. The only part fishable was
directly in front of the lodge and to the right side of
the bridge. Managed to get 3 and lose one, all on damsel fished slow and
deep. The water is gin clear and I couldn't see many fish in the
shallows so they must have gone deep in the cold weather.

fished tues 23rd between 10-2. Very cold but i am also going to report the browns are now in the shallows at the waters edge, chasing my black and green lures right in and taking them right as they are about to leave the water. I managed 3 browns and 1 rainbow in the time a fished, all healthy hard fighting fish.. Just waiting for the evenings to get lighter now to go after the evening rises.

Was out on tuesday 9th, making the most of the nice weather and had the lake to myself, fished an intermediate line with a black and green lure, figure of 8 retrieve and picked up 6 browns and 1 rainbow, best brown of around 2.5lb taking the lure pretty hard but they werent in the mood to chase if you were stripping. On another note the afternoon fished better than the morning.
