End of 2011 Fishing Report
Garnffrwd has been fishing exceptionally well with a good number of big fish being landed and an overall good average bag weight.
Despite some chilly day's the fishing has been great with the distinct advantage that Garnffrwd has with a spring fed lake, a constant flow of 11 degrees entering the lake keeping the metabolic rate of the trout up" which means the fish are feeding well and fighting like demons.
We had the pleasure of Ammanford Angling Club holding a competition with us on the 10th December a good number of fish were caught and some big fish were both landed and returned.
Johnathan Garland had the biggest fish of the day a 8 1/2lb Rainbow.
Top flies at the moment are Cat's whisker, Gold rib hares ear, Diawl bach, Hoppers, Blood worms. some fish are still being caught on the surface, Shipmans, Snatchers doing best.
